Mechanical / Machining Engineer

American Showa Inc., a world class leader in the manufacturing of precision automotive products has an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical/Machining Engineer at our Blanchester, Ohio plant location.


This is a hands-on position that requires spending large amounts of time on the manufacturing floor. This position will lead a team to develop new product lines and revamp existing lines. Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures and machine tool processing is a must. This position requires strong project management skills with the ability to control and track projects to completion. Candidates should have excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to complete all required documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical engineering degree or degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience.


Job responsibilities include:
Ability to develop process plans for given products and to procure equipment and tooling to launch production lines in a timely manner to meet customers’ requirements.
Ability to develop machine specifications for precision machining equipment, such as turning, milling, de-burring, grinding, boring, threading, etc., for aluminum and steel machining applications.
Ability to develop jig and tooling concepts, and design details.
Familiar with G-code, M-code, and machine controllers, particularly Fanuc controllers
Ability to set-up machines, test, debug, and train maintenance and production staff.
Familiar with AutoCAD, Solid Edge and other mechanical design software.
Knowledge and experience with process automation and robotics is a plus.
