Mechanical Engineer for DoD

Purpose: A leading provider of comprehensive information and communications systems solutions and services to the Department of Defense is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide conceptual system descriptions, analysis and development for the purpose of creating visionary deployment concepts. The candidate will be responsible for full life cycle of the product, including but not limited to, design and development, testing, packaging and bringing the subcomponents together into a complete unit. The candidate should also be able to perform design tradeoff studies, research existing systems and use their own experiences to understand and compare to prior systems.

Requirements are as follows:
1. BS in Mechanical Engineering
2. Minimum 5 years engineering experience in a DoD environment
3. Minimum 5 years experience with SolidWorks 2003 (or later version). Component and assembly modeling (design) as well as detailed drawing creation (drafting) to produce manufacturable component specifications
4. Experience with military products and systems
5. Knowledge and experience in hardware tests, plans, procedures, report writing and design in a DoD environment
