Mechanical Engineer (Kenai, AK)

Perform engineering functions relating to the design, construction, maintenance, reliability, troubleshooting, and Mechanical Integrity for all refinery mechanical equipment. Assist management in planning and directing turnarounds and special assignments for the refinery.

1.) Gather and interpret engineering data on refinery mechanical equipment (pressure vessels, boilers, rotating equipment and piping)

2) Manage Risk Based Inspection program for assigned equipment,

3) Identify reliability improvements and implement solutions,

4) Coordinate refinery equipment inspections with the Refinery Inspector,

5)Troubleshoot refinery equipment and recommend solutions,

6) Plan and direct preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment as requested by refinery management,

7)Perform economic studies pertaining to refinery operation and maintenance improvements,

8) Be responsible for safety inspections and assist management in instituting safe operating and maintenance procedures,

9) Work with Construction Supervisor to develop work packages for repairs, expansion projects and construction of new facilities,

10) Assist in bringing new units on stream, training maintenance and operations personnel and to perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of five years directly related experience. Prefer experience in operating or maintaining hydrotreating, reforming, hydrocracking, LPG and crude units. Should have good working knowledge of mechanical process equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities with little supervision. Enjoy working in a team environment, self starter and ability to identify, justify and implement improvements. Good computer skills. SAP, Excel, Word, MS Project and Acad LT.
