We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV in our Camarillo, Ca. Facility
Position Purpose:
Create technical specifications, design, analyze, document, and support the development of parts subassemblies, and systems that comprise Zebra printers, options and other products. Serve as “Lead ME” on projects when requested.
Job Description:
•Design and develop cost effective, manufacturable parts and assemblies that meet engineering and marketing specifications for Zebra thermal printers, printer options, and other products.
•Design, construct, and test feasibility models, prototypes and special test fixtures, as necessary for proof-of-principle and design verification.
•Create 3D models and detailed drawings using Pro/Engineer and Pro/Intralink while adhering to Zebra’s best practices for managing product data files.
•Perform engineering analysis to ensure parts and assemblies will meet the need of intended applications with adequate performance margins.
•Investigate problems, determine root causes, and design permanent solutions, implementing them within the established ECO process.
•Prepare reports and other written documentation to communicate findings to others.
•Communicate and interface within cross-functional team to achieve product realization, from initial concept through to release for manufacture.
•Keep abreast of technological advances in mechanical engineering, both generally and those with potential applicability to Zebra products.
•Assist and mentor more junior engineers either formally or informally.
•As lead ME on a project, assist the project manager in planning, estimating, and scheduling resources to meet milestones and complete project deliverables within the established time. Maintain high level of communications with subordinates on project teams to ensure timely completion of their tasks.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
6-12 years
Skills Required:
• High-volume product design experience
• Solid understanding of engineering mechanics, machine design, materials, geometric tolerancing, fabrication processes, and electronics packaging.
• Solid modeling CAD experience (Pro/Engineer a plus)
• Finite Element Analysis and/or dynamic simulation software experience.
• Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing (DFA/DFM)
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Knowledge of project management, scheduling, and estimating.
