Mechanical Engineer I Mckinney 4535
POSITION PURPOSE:
Works to define customer requirements from specifications and layouts of escalator and/or installations or new products and then works in a team environment to produce designs that satisfy the specification requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
1. Review and interpret job specifications that define product requirements. Work with other departments as required providing technical information before and after the sale of a job.
2. Identify characteristics of jobs during the job review process to allow proper resource allocation to job for timely completion (either contract specific or new or improved product specifications).
3. Produce designs of a moderate level of complexity in order to satisfy requirements.
4. Generate or assist in the generation of mechanical layouts (akin to shop drawings) that will be used to build escalators for specific projects.
5. Produce engineering documentation and reports required to meet project specifications.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Review vendor products and services as required fulfilling job functions.
2. Be knowledgeable of the Escalator Safety Codes and be able to properly apply it in day-to-day work.
3. May participate in Product Support functions as required.
4. Other projects as assigned by supervisor.
5. May participate as a team member in product introduction process.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
Experience:1 to 3 years of escalator related work experience

2. Project management skills
3. Planning and analytical skills
4. Ability to work on projects in cross-functional manner
5. Read architectural blueprints and specifications and correctly interpret them.
6. Good written and spoken communication skills.
7. Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
8. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
9. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
10. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis.
11. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
