Materials Engineer Department Manager

This position has management responsibility for laboratory operations, special inspection and technical field staff, as well as leads business development efforts for the materials group, and provides training opportunities and mentorship to materials and geotechnical department staff. Duties also include project management to direct and oversee a wide variety of Construction Materials project activities, focusing on timely and cost-effective delivery of services to clients and/or project sites. Collaborates with clients, project management, subcontractors and other management entities on major issues to ensure material requirements are met and that problems are resolved in a timely fashion.Qualifications
The position requires well-developed interpersonal skills, in addition to excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills. Desired candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and have a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in a supervisory role with a construction inspection and professional services firm. The position also requires International Building Code (IBC), or equivalent, certifications and the ability to obtain approval from local building departments.PE registration is preferred, but not required, and a strong background in business development is a plus. We will also consider SET certified candidates with suitable experience.
