Materials Department Manager

Lead and manage the Salt Lake City materials business
Work directly with Business Unit Manager on various strategic, tactical and project Issues

Accountabilities
Create a culture of high quality delivery to selected clients and committed employees
Build a team with enhanced skills and ability to deliver client satisfaction
Retrieve, assemble and deliver information in response to bid requests and SOQs
Establish positive working relationship with client representatives, subcontractors and vendors
Assist in scheduling presentations and client meetings
Communicate project plans, procedures and schedules to other project staff
Ensure that project files (electronic and paper) are set up and maintained properly
Interact with accounting, purchasing and contracts staff
Interact with and oversee laboratory manager
Reports to Unit Manager

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
BS or equivalent work experience
Experience leading and managing a team
Experience managing a business, particularly a materials business
Capable of contributing to the office business management team
Interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly in writing
Solid administrative and organizational skills
Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
Ability to oversee a materials laboratory operation
