BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Director - Kohler Operating System, is accountable for the enterprise wide deployment of Six Sigma training and certification of Black Belts and Green Belts. Ability to build trust in order to drive KOS initiatives/Six sigma Blackbelt activities within Kohler is critical. Accountable for driving sustainable process across traditional functional boundaries. Responsible for creating the strategic direction for Six Sigma focused KOS/PI initiatives by leveraging project selection and scoping and Black Belt and Green Belt resources in alignment with Kohler Company's strategic objectives.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Leader of Change: Coordinate all Six Sigma implementation to confirm alignment with the strategic direction of the company; engage functional business leaders to adopt KOS practices, using the Six Sigma methodologies where appropriate.
Guidance and coordination for Corporate KOS Black Belts. Black Belts assigned to Corporate level project work as well as project work in functional areas without current Black Belt resources.
Work with Kohler Company business leaders to develop and manage multiple Black/Green Belts and provide one on one counseling and mentoring on projects. Develop and identify future blackbelts through on going succession planning with the functional business leaders.
Serve as Master Black Belt for the areas of the company that have not yet pursued the full implementation of Six Sigma.In cooperation with the Director - KOS, defines Black Belt projects and conducts those projects in Kohler Co. sectors that haven't fully implemented Six Sigma.
Minimum of two Black Belt projects per year completed by Corporate KOS MBB.Assist in developing key measurements for the organization which are quantifiable and measurable and which strategic performance is measured against. Monitors results to make sure continuous improvements are maintained and benefits are sustainable over the long term.Provide performance expectations and evaluation for cross-functional resources on project teams. Input will be provided to the appropriate supervisor and will have equal weight with that of functional performance expectations and evaluations.Autonomously manages the problem solving and implementation process in relation to Six Sigma and communicates to senior management on a variety of processes and technical issues. Makes collaborative informed decisions that have significant financial and schedule impact to the company.
Drive adoption of best practices developed by Six Sigma teams across the organization. Establishes and maintains relationships with senior management for the purpose of aligning objectives and removing obstacles for process implementation.
Provide leadership with on going training and information to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities.
Expert coach on the full range of Six Sigma tools and methods. Provides technical and statistical expertise to the businesses.
Establish strategies to develop a strong talent pipeline within the function.
Assists in the process of driving the retention efforts of certified blackbelts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Math or related discipline. Masters degree preferred. Minimum 5 years experience directly with six sigma tools and methods in a lean manufacturing environment. Broad knowledge and application experience with process improvement, structured problem solving, TQM tools and methods. Strong project management skills necessary; critical skills required:
