The National Market Intelligence organization is initiating a recruiting process for a Market Intelligence (MI) Manager to support the Aerospace & Defense practice.
The MI Manager will play a key role in the firm's understanding of the aerospace, aviation, and defense markets by designing and developing market intelligence presentations and deliverables that facilitate business development and operational planning for the managing partners of the Aerospace & Defense practice. Deliverables will include prospect profiles and market studies which integrate information from primary and secondary sources, client service professionals,
and sales and marketing managers. These presentations and deliverables are designed to provide partners and the Business Development organization a competitive edge in developing proposals, attaining new business, retaining and expanding current services, and making organizational/business decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare written and oral presentations on prospects, markets, and competitor activities for key client service practitioners and the Business Development organization to support their efforts to win business;
- Conduct research on specific Aerospace & Defense market-related topics and issues, and translate these findings into opportunities and threats for the firm;
- Attend industry meetings and conferences with key leaders to elicit information about administrative and policy changes and to develop and nurture an external network of contacts to support marketplace analysis;
- Identify internal and external information sources, build
effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm and the external marketplace, and conduct effective interviews.
- Identify research requirements for the Aerospace & Defense practice and integrate vendor-provided elements, third-party interviews, and publicly available information in research projects. This involves conceptualizing contract work that supports projects; ensuring deliverables and qualitative measures are clearly established with vendor, monitoring vendor performance and taking corrective actions as required ensuring deliverables arrive on time and within budget.
This position will play a critical role in the development, presentation, and implementation of cohesive analyses of markets, prospects, and competitors. The MI manager interacts with all levels of the Aerospace & Defense practice and Business Development organization to ensure the creation of accurate, effective and quality presentations. This position will require occasional travel to
attend offsite meetings and/or training sessions with National Competitive and Market Intelligence group. - A minimum of 8 to 10 years of work experience demonstrating superior writing, analytical and presentation skills - preferably in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- A minimum of at least 3 to 5 years of experience in organizational and marketplace analysis focused on Aerospace & Defense markets
- Must have a strong network of contacts and knowledge in the Aerospace & Defense markets
- A Master's degree in Business Administration is required. Experience in lieu of a MBA will also be considered.
