Manufacturing Engineer / Molded Wood Composite Veneer Engineer

JOB TITLE: Molded Wood Composite Veneer Engineer DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Engineering LOCATION: TN REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager GENERAL PURPOSE: Technical responsibility for engineering activities related to development, design, construction, installation, and operation of systems and equipment for the molded wood composite veneer wrapped product line. Includes but not limited to, process research and development, financial analysis, implementation and technical direction in a manufacturing environment with product designed using veneer wrapped components of particle board and MDF or wood moldings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Thorough research of field in molded composite wood fiber products with resin binders and the application of veneer to these products. Successful implementation of developed process in a manufacturing environment with product being manufactured at or under proposed cost projections. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Work with associates in the development, identification and accomplishment of their assigned goals and objectives. Maintain positive working relationship with Plant Managers and Supervisory personnel.

Must have Wood Products Manufacturing background!
(MUST HAVE VENEER PRODUCTS MANUFACTURING BACKGROUND) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: MS Office applications, MS Project, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Pro-E, SPC, Excellent verbal and written communication skills with project management experience. Must be able to maintain confidential information relating to the Company’s strategic goals and objectives. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to provide “hands on” involvement with selected process. Should have experience with presses to mould composite wood fibers and or membrane press experience for applying veneer and or face wrapping of wood or MDF moldings. Added strengths that are useable are: sourcing of purchased components, experience in bill of materials, routing of operations, lean manufacturing practices and 5 Sigma. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical concentration preferred. Requires 2+ years practical experience in related engineering field.
