Manufacturing Controls Engineer

Evergreen Solar seeks a controls engineer to join the manufacturing organization. Individual will be accountable for providing maintenance and continuous improvement programs for all solar panel manufacturing equipment.

Specifically individual will be responsible for:

•Assess, evaluate and communicate the operational disturbances and/or failures of equipment and program modifications to improve machine speed, reliability, functionality, and or ease of use.
•Evaluate downtime for each machine and determine priorities for the operators.
•Assist with the scheduling of machine upgrades and modifications.
•Implement significant vision system improvements.
•Generate technical documentation to improve machine performance or train operators; locate, specify & order components for use in the equipment.
•Assist with the hands on support of improving existing equipment.
•Troubleshoot complicated mechanical problems with on a variety of custom manufacturing equipment
REQUIREMENTS
BSEE or ASEE is highly preferred. Degree must be in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Field Engineering, Product Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering and Production Control) or equivalent knowledge and experience. 5+ years of controls system design, troubleshooting and/or support experience. Experience with DVT cameras and Frameworks/Intellect applications, Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 & RSLogix5000 programming, Visual Basic programming, Intelligent Actuator products, and ethernet network configuration & protocols. Firm understanding of ANSI/RIA, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and CE standards. Experience with (Safety) Risk Assessments and safety circuit design requirements for industrial equipment to be installed in U.S. and international locations. Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings. Experience with startup, operation, testing, and troubleshooting of automated industrial equipment.
