Manager, RF Engineering

As a Department Manager, you will support our business units by developing, leading, motivating, managing and optimally allocating department resources and define and improve radio frequency (RF) circuitry development and maintenance processes. The department resources may include entry to senior level software development professionals and section management Associates. Through staff, develop and maintain RF and wireless technologies that meet the quality, cost and delivery requirements of the company business units.

Duties:
- Manages the activities of an entire engineering department of direct reports.
- Regularly interacts with senior or executive management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, or customers
- Work directly with project managers and technology leaders to assure that work planning and task execution are accomplished
- Evaluate and provide for associate skills training to assure the success of product implementation and associate career development.
- Responsible for implementing and improving engineering methods to support established product development processes
- Responsible for the execution of multiple complex engineering projects, including production line support, product modifications, and engineering studies
- Keep current on matters of technological and regulatory advances that may impact RF development practices to ensure the highest possible "state of the art"
- Provide for the availability of RF development tools and access to corporate information systems for all associates in the department
- Ensure that associates have proper working conditions
- Ensure the compliance of corporate policies and procedures which cover the functional area
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
- B. S. degree in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical.
- Applicable product and hardware development experience in RF design for high quality audio applications over VHF and UHF bands.
- 4 years of experience leading and managing an engineering development group is strongly desired.
- Experience with designs that include audio signal processing circuitry or audio transducer elements is preferred.
- Familiarity with embedded control, microprocessor and DSP software development is desired.
- Familiarity with basic audio concepts. Experience in live performance or production is desired.

- Effective communication skills, including the ability to influence across departments, convey department and company vision, present departmental activities to a larger audience, and gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
