Manager, Global Direct Materials
Reporting to the Director of Global Procurement and as a key manager in our Global Supply Chain, you will be responsible for a team that will source approximately $200 million/year in global direct material purchases for multiple facilities. You will lead teams through a complex, technically involved strategic sourcing process, as well as independently source designated product/service lines. Your role involves managing a group of global inventory buyers in negotiating with suppliers for products / services / outsourcing activities required of multiple manufacturing and administrative locations. The position is measured primarily on cash flow improvement created, improving internal business partnerships, processes, and purchasing skills/education provided to internal business partners.Key Responsibilities
A key activity will be the development and guidance of a direct purchasing team to state-of-the-art in terms of expertise as well as the development and implementation of purchasing plans to effectively manage the supply base. You will demonstrate expertise in areas of cost control/containment, budgeting, forecasting and capital expenditures. Annual strategic planning and development for targeted products/services is imperative. This position will lead cross-functional commodity teams to meet business objectives by developing global sourcing strategies that reduce the total cost of ownership.

Implement sourcing solutions globally for Direct Material purchases to include strategic development and implementation.
Supervise and participate in the preparation of written financial and administrative reports.
Develop supply security/risk mitigation plans for key materials.
Co-ordinate a global supplier portal to increase the level of VMI and consignment programs to decrease inventory levels.
Partner with Legal to interpret contract provisions and review contracts for accuracy and changes prior to bid and renewal.
Provide liaison between suppliers, contractors, and management.
You will guide the team in how to anticipate and interpret market trends in the raw supply chain and create competitive strategies.
Demonstrated success in continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease lead-time, work cooperatively and jointly with product management, R&D, quality to provide quality materials.
Assist in leadership of strategic sourcing teams to evaluate spend and determine appropriate global strategies for optimizing buying leverage.
Diligently support and rally a strong global teamwork environment. Develop a professional organization possessing superior supply chain expertise in purchasing, cost control and sourcing strategies.
You will communicate a clear and compelling vision to motivate others to seek challenges to excel.Requirements
Bachelors Degree (MBA a plus) with 7-10 years purchasing experience. CPM desirable.
Measurable accomplishments and experience (5+ years) in a strategic procurement role to include cost reductions, quality and supplier development.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Ability to be a positive, energetic team player, a strong leader, good listener, and source of inspiration and ideas for new product development
Excellent PC skills including MS office products, Powerpoint, Business Objects. Oracle experience a plus.
