Assist in defining and implement Comcast's primary strategy for CPE and home network solutions for both Residential and Commercial solutions. Solutions should be in accordance with industry standards, generally accepted business practices and Comcast policies.
Leads development of architecture guidelines and standards for CPE and home network devices
Leads development of certification processes and tests for all CPE devices
Leads design and support of all CPE device configurations for HSD, Voice and Video services
Represent Comcast in Internal and External conferences, seminars and expositions
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
BS required, in Engineering or Computer Science; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Experience:
Deep and broad technical knowledge of cable and IP network technologies, cable company operations, and I.T. solutions, with specific experience (5 years) working with DOCSIS technology
Familiarity with and understanding of:
CMTS and Router methodology and capabilities as developed by cable industry suppliers; Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, Arris, Motorola, etc.
CableLabs industry projects; CableHome???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????, PacketCable???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????, PacketCable Multimedia???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????, DOCSIS OpenCable???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
oAccess technologies such as EFM, HFC, QAM, passive optical technologies (PON), HFC extension.
Maintain sound knowledge of network standards and practices including IEEE, IETF, ISO, ITU-T, SCTE, Cablelabs and understanding of fundamental IP routing technologies such as BGP-4, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, Multicast and IPv6.
Service provider experience is required and network equipment development experience is desired.
Demonstrated expert knowledge of current voice/video/data services.
