MTS Engineering - Storage Qualification Engineer

SGI is seeking a Storage Qualification Engineer to join our team of experienced professionals in Mountain View, CA.
As a member of the Storage Hardware Engineering Technical Staff, this individual will perform RAID Hardware and Management Software testing for SGIs leading edge RAID Storage, Storage Area Network and Network Attached Solutions. The successful candidate will lead qualification program efforts for OEM RAID storage and related products as defined by the SGI s product roadmap. Conduct qualification test; provide test plans, schedules and product deliverables on time as defined by the product team. Develop feature and system level test strategies and test plans based on marketing requirements, OEM engineering specifications. Work with OEM partners to resolve technical issues as well as participate in cross-functional meeting as part of the development release cycle.
Specifically this person will: Perform qualification and performance benchmarking activities.Review design specifications and develop a robust test strategy and test plan to verify OEM products meet the design requirements.Collect data and report on bugs via a bug reporting system and work with our OEM partners to resolve technical issues.Review and provide feedback on Statement s of Work for each release.Generate specifications and bill of materials.Provide guidance and input on product technical publications.Act as a technical resource for software engineering, field engineers and marketing as required.
Qualification experience requirements: Fiber Channel RAID, SAN topologies and fibre devices.Unix/Linux OS experienceDevice driver and storage subsystem configuration experience Common RAID implementations and able to configure hardware and software.RAID and Fibre Channel Switch management software experience, including performance considerations.FC, SCSI, SAS and SATA interfaces and HDD technologiesNetwork Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network. (SAN)Basic Perl, C and shell script programming.
