Relocation is provided and travel occasionally.
This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Overview:
Dow Corning, a U.S. based, multinational corporation and global leader in the silicon-based industry seeks a Materials Scientiest for a position within our Midland, Michigan facility.

The Electronics Department has an immediate opening for a development scientist to work on the development of conductive materials. The individual will be a member of a larger global team focusing on a 0-3 year horizon of new technology for the electronics industry with focus on conductive technology.

Conduct fine, detailed, hands-on development work and accurate, detailed reporting of results. An aptitude for creative and independent lab work is required. Good communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects are essential.

Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Chemistry (PhD) or Equivalent experience (Masters + Experience)

Prefer a minimum of 5 years experience
REQUIREMENTS
Job Skills/Requirements:

Thermal design experience at a device and system level as well as heat transfer principle and simulation.

Thermal application experience

Demonstrated knowledge of thermal interface materials and designing thermal interface solutions.

Knowledge of silicone materials or chemistry

A good cross functional understanding of materials and applications science related to surfaces, fillers, mechanics, conductivity or optical properties will be needed.

Background in electronics assembly and thermal capabilities.
