SENIOR SALES & MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE
Fugro Airborne Surveys, Inc. a leader in airborne gamma-ray spectrometry (AGS or radiometrics) for major surveys and exploration projects has the following open position for its Houston, TX office.
Market and products and services to the petroleum industry in North America. Maintain a network of client contacts and communicate regularly in person and by telephone to market the services and products of the company, learn market and competitor information, and solicit and respond to requests for tenders.
Focus will be on sales and marketing of the FAS Non-Exclusive Geophysical Database and other products and services including aeromagnetic and airborne gravity acquisition. Identify Fixed Wing and Helicopter Electro-Magnetic opportunities, Spectrometer surveys, land geophysical surveys (gravity, magnetic, EM, IP), Environmental geophysical applications, groundwater applications, pipeline mapping and engineering applications. Potential clients include petroleum and mining companies, geo-technical groups and government organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales
Solicit, review, and respond to requests for tender
Review tender specifications with department managers to ensure viability of proposed work
Coordinate with department managers to finalize cost elements, proposed methodology, instrumentation, schedules, and deliverables
Produce final bid document including any photocopying, binding, word processing, presentation materials, etc
Close sales prospects and negotiate contracts including financial, legal and technical elements
Maintain client database using ACT client tracking software
Conduct cold calls, on-site sales visits, and technical presentations to build client relationships
Stay current with new products and services of the company
Provide after sales service and on-going communication to clients
Monitor technical publications and literature to keep current
Marketing
Consult with clients and propose solutions to their needs and concerns
Conduct market research to determine ways to broaden client base
Identify new markets and look for new ways of doing business
Organize logistics and attend trade shows to generate prospects / build relationships with clients
Prepare marketing literature, product and case history sheets, powerpoint presentations, etc. to promote the services and products of the company to clients
Monitor competition and gather “market intelligence” information regarding competitors, new technologies, survey pricing, etc
Administration
Attend and contribute to weekly communications meetings
Update prospects and tenders spreadsheet
Prepare monthly and quarterly sales summaries
Prepare and distribute sales call and trip reports

REQUIREMENTS
Prefer candidates with contacts in the oil industry. Must possess current U.S. work authorization.
Degree/diploma in Geophysics, Geology or related earth science discipline
10 - 15 years experience working for a geophysical or exploration company, preferably in a geophysical sales position
Familiarity with Potential Field Methods (Gravity and Magnetics)
International commercial experience would be as asset
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to write proposals
Outstanding selling skills and effective presentation skills
Competent in MS Office applications
Self starter and ability to work as part of a team
Some travel will be required to make client visits and attend conferences and trade shows in North America and internationally. Travel is expected to account for approximately 50 – 75 days per year. Requires a valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record, and the ability to obtain a passport.
