Linux SW Engineer I, II or Sr.

Engineer) in our Engineering department.



Specifically, duties include (but are not limited to):



Design, develop, and maintain software for real-time embedded satellite
TV set-top box (STB) receivers utilizing Linux.

Decompose tasks, define milestones, create schedules and estimate
development resources for projects.

Work within a development team using change control and source code
management systems.

Work with test engineering and test validation groups to create test
plans and procedures.

job Requirements


Minimum qualifications to be considered:



Education:



Engineer I: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, or other engineering discipline; or at least 4 years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. Over 2 years experience in development of real-time
software with C programming language.



Engineer II: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, or other engineering discipline plus two years of related
experience; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.



Sr. Engineer: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, or other engineering discipline plus at least three years
of related experience; or at least six years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.



Experience:



Engineer I, II or Sr.: 1-10 years experience in design and
development of real-time software with C/C++. X-Windows programming,
writing shared library functions, and multi-threaded programming experience
a plus. Development experience using Linux or UNIX required. Must be a
quick learner with good deductive reasoning skills and ability to work in a
team environment.
