This role will be a key part of the New Braunfels team within the CSB North America Glass Reinforcements Organization. This position will utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to support the continuous improvement initiatives in the facility. The successful candidate will ensure implementation that brings measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will also be responsible for meeting savings targets.Accountabilities:Utilizes Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC) to eliminate waste and improve processesIdentifies opportunities to implement common processes & best demonstrated practices from within the plant and other sites and businesses; disseminates and acts upon relevant industry and corporate benchmarking dataProvides leadership, coaching and training in lean thinking and lean production, variation reduction, problem solving & avoidance and People StrategiesFacilitates kaizen events involving employees throughout the plant to drive continuous improvementAssures that process improvements and benefits employ visual management and that actions are driven to closure and sustained while being made visual to stakeholdersImplements visual controls and root cause/mistake-proofing solutionsDefines and documents standard operating procedures (SOP)Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and maintains project tracking list.Assures that predicted savings are tracked, validated and posted to the site’s/organization’s operating resultsEffectively communicates to all levels of management and all hourly employees, ensuring open channels for effective two-way communicationsThe ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three (3) years process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and in Six Sigma a strong plus.Must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to motivate and influence people to implement change, manage multiple projects in the overall program, maintain a control plan, and effectively communicate the results.BSIE, BSME, or BS in other related engineering program required.Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer.
