Lead Test Engineer

MicroE Systems, a member of GSI Group?s Precision Motion Division is a world leader in designing and manufacturing position sensing devices and servo motion control systems.

Successful candidate will design and write test procedures, execute tests, and direct/support other test engineers and technicians for aerospace and defense related contracts. Generate and maintain schedule of activities for project testing; coordinate QA activities with the Director of QA. Testing will be on component, subassembly, and end unit levels. using automated test equipment and test software. Duties will include coordinating, conducting and observing tests at subcontractor(s) facilities; analysis of test results, calculations and synthesis of complex information. Principles of aerodynamics, mechanics, thermodynamics statistics and electronics will be used. Generate comprehensive, well-written test reports and prepare test result presentations for customers. The ability to express thoughts clearly, orally and in writing, is essential.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of three years environmental and performance testing of high technology components and/or end products in aerospace and defense programs. Experience includes test plan and procedure development, test execution and report generation, participation in test reviews and project reviews, analysis and presentations of test results, failure analysis, participation is failure review board and QA audits/inspections.

Management/supervision of test staff, preferably for aerospace or defense projects

Development of test equipment and software

Strong technical and leadership skills

Hardware/Software test development and execution

Automatic test equipment development/usage; hardware and/or software

Ability to work directly with internal and external customers

Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management standards

US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, or equivalent

Master's Degree preferred.
