Lead Simulation Engineer

The successful candidat for this position will work in the Modeling Technology group within the Modeling and Simulation team, focused on developing transient simulation models for combined-cycle power plants.Essential Functions
Initial activities will include development of simulation models in support of GE Energy's initiaties in the IGCC, ESBWR, or other combined-cycle projects.
This person will be responsible for developing new modules to model power plant equipment, and integrating such modules into simulation models of combined-cycle models.
This position will frequently require using such models to perform operability analysis studies.
This person will be expected to develop a good working knowledge of the GE Mark VI and Vie control systems.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
3 to 5 years experience with modeling or simulation of gas turbine systems, steam turbine or steam cycle systems, or combined-cycle or fossil power plants.
Experience with simulation software, such as Easy5, PC-TRAX, ASPEN, HYSYS or similar packages.
Knowledge of Fortran and/or C/C++ software languages.
Working knowledge at the programming level with Windows operating system.

Experience with GE Mark VI control systems.
Experience in modeling or simulation of fossil, nuclear, or combined-cycle power plants.General: Controls and Power Electronics COE, a subset of GE Energy Engineering Division, is a cutting edge designer and developer of Controls Systems and Drives and Controls Systems for applications such as Turbine Control, Automation Control, and Plant Control. The Controls COE serves markets such as thermal, wind, oil and gas, hydro and solar energy.
