Lead Marine Engineer

Purpose: Leader in high quality vessels is looking for a Lead Marine Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team of individuals.

Essential Functions:

-Reporting to Vice President Product Development produces concept designs for sales and contract purposes
-Acts as liaison with third party design agents
-Reporting to the Chief Engineer leads team of engineers/designers to develop contract, functional and production designs
-Reporting to the Chief Engineer handles production issues with yard
-Attends vessel trials and records performance data for future designs and contract compliance

Requirements:

Bachelor in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering
PE preferred

Experience:

-Engineering, competent in all facets of aluminum vessel design up to 160 feet in length. This should include working knowledge of USCG and Classification Society rules. Good working knowledge of design spiral, vessel arrangements, structural, mechanical and outfit details.
-Leadership, shall have capability of leading a team of up to ten engineers and designers, generating and managing schedules and budgets with assistance from the Chief Engineer.
-Communications, shall be capable of clear effective communications with engineering team, project managers, production management and personnel, owners, suppliers and regulatory agencies
-Design tools, requires an in depth understanding of design software.
-Must be able to handle a heavy workload with multiple priorities and time frames
