Lead Engineer Technologist- Aircraft Performance and Econ.

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, AviationFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Utilize commercial aircraft mission and economic analysis tools to analyze and assess PD and existing GE product offerings along with competitive engines. Provide data to support overall engine strategy formulation. Provide timely and effective study results and present to Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Project organizations. Interact effectively with Airframer contacts regarding integration, performance and economic issues, with emphasis on the aircraft system performance and GE engine benefits and improvement areas. Provide aircraft system level insight and guidance during PD engine cycle and architecture design studies. Develop constructive relationships with cycle design, performance engineering and propulsion system architecture and cost groups. Integrate these relationships, along with a functional knowledge of propulsion system performance to "bottom-line" commercial aircraft customer requirements. Document study results an ongoing activities via IOIs, presentations, etc.General job functions: Execute with some guidance the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements. Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks. Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues. Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: BS in Engineering or a related field. Prior experience in aircraft design, performance and/or economics. Experience integrating technical and economic/business analyses. Significant experience relevant to indicated position area of expertise. Proficiency with the technology and tools relevant to the function. Demonstrated effectiveness in working as part of a team. Track record of self-motivation, effective decision making and creative problem solving. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and tasks. Effective PC (Microsoft) computer skills.Desired: Knowledge of engines and their impact on the aircraft system. Interest in aircraft/airline industry. Prior work experience with an airframer or an airline. Effective workstation (UNIX) skills.
