Lead Electrical Engineer- Power

Position Summary/Accountabilities –
Responsible for performing complex transmission & distribution engineering work with limited supervision. Performs project management and provides technical support to utility operations and maintenance and to external customers.Job Functions –
Plans, performs design and supports installation and commissioning of all components and equipment associated with electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Includes both electrical and physical aspects associated with overhead and underground lines and with substation installations. Develops and reviews engineering documents such as calculations, specifications and procedures. Prepares and reviews cost estimates and project proposals. Develops reviews and recommends engineering, material, equipment and construction standards. Assists, as needed, in the development of departmental budgets including analysis required for providing explanations of budget variances and financial spending forecasts. Performs and reviews engineering studies and analysis such as reliability improvement, cost/benefit, root cause/failure and risk/alternatives. Keeps abreast and maintains a working knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards and vendor information. Develops reviews and approves drawings. Assists in the development of training and certification programs. Maintains engineering and project records and files. Assists in permits such as DOT, DNR, county, zoning, CPCN, CA and line franchise. Participates in public hearings and information meetings.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be open to traveling throughout the US
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly desired
