Lead Component Engineer - Rotating Components Technology

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: *Lead component design team in execution of NPI, OTR, and RTS activities for new units, services, and Oil & Gas businesses. Follow Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for Reaction and Impulse turbines.
Drive technology advancements for Rotor components and subsystems.
Utilize drafting resources to execute assigned tasks working closely with manufacturing and sourcing.
Work closely with Application Engineering and MSILs to drive platform strategy for structuring and technology enhancements.
Review and lead appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs. Utilize Global Development Centers to maximize analytical capability of Rotating Components group.
Provide factory and sourcing support on quality initiatives to drive reduction in Cost of Quality issues and Direct Material Productivity.
Work with other Global Steam Turbine Technology teams to drive common analytical and execution approach. Leverage other team's best practices. Leverage GRC, Aircraft Engines, Gas Turbine, and GDC centers to drive productivity and technology.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (GE Employees only).
Finite Element Analysis capability.
Experience working with global resources.
Prior Steam Turbine or Turbomachinery component design experience.Desired: *Advanced engineering degree.
System Design experience.
Familiar with factory assembly practices.
Familiar with forging, machining, and assembly operations of Rotors for power generation equipment.
Knowledge of automation design and drafting tools.
Experience with Steam Turbine design process and procedure.
Experience with new unit and services related work.General: *Effective multitasking and ability to deliver on time and with quality.
Proven technical ability.
