Laser Technician - 2nd Shift

Purpose: Aerotek represents an aerospace company in Chandler, AZ looking for experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.

Summary
Work on 2nd shift with little supervision, operates YAG, CO2 Lasers. Position requires work in various disciplines within the Laser Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Setup and operate YAG Laser.
2. Setup and operate CO2 Laser.
3. Program in G code.
4. Be proficient with all tools required for Laser operations.
5. Provide training and assistance to lower grade employees.
6. Cross train in all aspects in Laser Department.
7. Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
8. Read, interpret and assist in the preparation of work instructions.
9. Follow all company policies including safety instructions.
10. Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
11. Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, tool designs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively speak and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or other employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and three years related experience in set-up and operating Lumonics YAG and CO2 Lasers; Experience in CAD is helpful
