LEAD PROGRAMMER, LAMP

Our client is a leading online marketing and advertising firm. Founded in 2000, this fast growing company has been profitable since its inception and is debt free. Because of this growth, we are currently accepting applications for the following position.

Lead Programmer (LAMP)



POSITION PURPOSE:



With project progress and results being monitored by the Director of Internet Operations or his designee, performs a variety of complex technical work and is responsible for administrative and supervisory efforts in the development and preparation of computer programs.



GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



Designs complex programs and specifications; performs lifecycle maintenance. Monitors and enforces coding standards and acts effectively as a team leader in these regards.



Resolves complex programming difficulties.



Prepares programs requiring a wide variety and extensive number of internal processing actions; develops analysis and design of systems and/or programs; produces, tests, and documents program code; analyzes source and content of data; assists others with debugging when necessary.



Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; collects, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates activities with other departments, as needed.



Furnishes professional advice to management and department heads; makes presentations to committees, task forces, and others, as needed.



Insures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; participates in annual budget planning; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.



Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and promotes workflow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.



Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and inspects work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.



Maintains harmony among workers and solves grievances; performs or helps subordinates in performing duties; adjusts errors and complaints.



Does a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision-making purposes. Prepares charts, tables, and logic diagrams needed in problem analysis; forms complete descriptions of all specifications required; additionally, develops common operations which can be reused; develops analysis and design of systems and/or programs.



Examines, reviews, and/or changes programs to adapt to changes in requirements or equipment configuration.



Accomplishes related duties and achieves desired results as needed. Participates in Company or departmental planning sessions. When requested, contributes to other department workload deadlines.



Provides backup support for related positions as needed.



May serve as a member or leader of various employee project teams.



Performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in computer technology or equivalent relevant training/experience.

8 years of applicable work experience including 5+ years of commercial programming in a LAMP environment.

Team lead or supervisory experience.

MySQL, PHP, BASH Shell scripting, PERL, and C/C++ experience

Expert knowledge of IP protocols, Linux OS, MySQL DBMS.

Highly skilled with Internet, email, spreadsheets, databases

Proven superior ability to learn how to effectively use new software/hardware tools

Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical perception required.

Good verbal and written communication skills required.

Team-oriented.



Experience with high volume Internet marketing and/or email marketing will be a plus.
