They will be involved in numerous projects and activities will include design, configuration, installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting. The position requires EXPERT level understanding (and ability to manipulate) telecommunication technologies and protocols such as DS1, DS3, ATM, Frame Relay, Internet, Firewalls, IDS, IPSEC, GRE, VPN, MTU, ACLs, MPLS, IP, VoIP, Switching, SNMP, H.323, SIP, TCP/IP, UDP, NAT, ICMP, OSPF, BGP, Complex Routing Architectures, Redistribution, Ethernet, HSRP, DHCP, DNS and be able to assimilate any other technologies utilized to deliver services to our customers. Daily activities require a solid understanding of switching technologies, including VLANs, trunking, and STP. Voice over IP experience and/or AVVID experience is a plus. Direct interaction with various project managers, matrixed internal teams and the client will be expected.This person will ensure compliance with all quality processes. They will monitor network core and customer network performance reports and define action plans for improvements. They will be responsible for developing and fostering teamwork across all organization in support of program objectives. They need to be skilled in interpreting customer requirements and turning them into solutions (functional requirements) and must be able to show where they have delivered hands-on and proactive resolution of all issues in an aggressively timely fashion. They must also be flexible and creative to adapt to environments where functional and business objectives evolve and change rapidly. M/F/D/VJob RequirementsCritical Technical & Behavioral Skills/Qualifications: *Prefer a bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, or a computer-related field or the equivalent course work or technical training and/or professional experience. Master Degree or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
Operational and Implementation experience i.e., enterprise implementations
STRONG communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
STRONG math and logic skills
Minimum of 10 years telecommunications experience in various technical roles.
5+ years of Sr. Technical experience, with AT LEAST the most recent 3+ of those years on large scale Infrastructure (preferably in a Cisco/Microsoft environment) related projects
Experience leading and completing several large scales Infrastructure/Network related projects from conception to completion (from establishment of business requirements through deliverables)
Must be able to present and interact with diverse groups of varying technical ability
Solutions/Integration development skills
Demonstrated advanced network troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and team-working skills
Extensive Experience with Cisco Hardware and IOS; Extensive Cisco architecture / design ability and Experience; CCIE certification
Familiarity with Industry Best Practices
Desired Experience:
Background in Network Security, Aironet Wireless design would be a plus as well as experience with IPV6, and 802.1X.
