LAN Engineer / E-Mail Archive Specialist

Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree plus 7-10 years experience. Description: Leads the engineering, network planning, coordination, and installation of new or modified LANs. Performs high level troubleshooting, diagnostics, research, evaluation, and documentation of various LAN and data communications solutions and alternatives. Works with business partners to provide technical analysis and consultation on highly complex network design and configuration issues. Provides technical expertise to client and technology management and staffs in the design of effective LANs. Provides overall strategic direction on architecture for hardware and software components. Frequently acts as a project lead. Provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff.


Pay rate is open, DOE. It will likely range between $35/hour and $50/hour.

Assentor experience is a plus. Excellent communications skills are required. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

REQUIREMENTS
Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration - Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a high level knowledge of windows operating system, knowledge of 3rd party application environments regarding messaging (archiving, email controls, encryption, etc). The individual should be able to deploy, administer, monitor and troubleshoot in a complex messaging environment in accordance with industry accepted Best Practices.

Candidate should have experience working in a corporate environment where the team must administer systems to known corporate policies regarding security, audit, and change control processes. The engineering team is responsible for designing, documenting and maintaining a complex environment.

Be able to perform research, evaluation and documentation duties on hardware, applications, operating systems and data network problems for both individual users and server/LAN environments. Be the escalation point for the production support staff and to respond to support questions from less experienced staff.

The candidate will be working on an incremental funded project regarding version updates, compliance reporting and mailing routing for a email archiving application (Assentor). They will also be responsible for maintaining the lab virtual environment (scheduling, assignment, allocation).
