Jr. & Sr. Environmental Engineer

Junior Engineer:

Facilitates compliance with a variety of air regulatory programs for a portion of the refinery. Coordinates compliance activities associated with the refinery's LPDES program including preparation of discharge monitoring reports, the storm water pollution prevention program, and any necessary permit maintenance. Provides over site and project management for Louisiana RECAP evaluations. Develops and implements groundwater evaluation and remediation programs. Completes reports for state and federal regulatory agencies and maintains the appropriate documentation. Reads and interprets environmental regulations. Manages consulting and testing teams for special projects.


Senior Engineer:
Provides support for the ongoing compliance with environmental rules and regulations. Ensures that all control, monitoring, record keeping, and reporting requirements are satisfied. Provides support for environmental compliance and permitting projects. Interacts and coordinates projects with agencies, consulting firms, and contractors. Ensures compliance by developing and/or implementing compliance systems and tools. Performs applicability analyses for all modifications/construction in the refinery and prepares and negotiates necessary permits. Calculates emissions on a monthly basis for all permitted sources. Performs compliance audits monthly to ensure proper certification of all permits. Ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous and solid waste are accomplished within EPA and State rules and regulations. Completes reports for state and federal regulatory agencies and maintains appropriate documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
Junior Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred. Minimum three years experience in the refining/petrochemical industry or consulting, including contact and negotiations with state and/or federal environmental regulatory agencies, required. Must be highly self-motivated with good verbal and written communication skills. Candidates with greater qualifications may be considered for a higher level position



Senior Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Five years of Environmental Engineering experience required. Must have experience with permitting procedures, auditing, and compliance.
