Java Software Engineer

Direct and contract positions available:Responsibilities: 1. Design, develop and maintain software for specific components of business applications based upon requirements from Product Management and designs provided by architects. Maintain specific subsystems of the software systems owned by the team. Interface effectively with other teams, as necessary, to implement projects per schedule.2. Write component design documents that can be understood by other software engineers and architects.
3. Participate in team review meetings.
4. Ensure system quality by unit testing, writing automated test scripts, and supporting QA staff to test software systems.
5. Assist in system configuration and support application deployment (including occasional after-hours support during major deployments).
6. Maintain software development and integration environments.
7. Write and review team technical support documentation. eoe/m/f/v/d
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: 1. An understanding of Java and object oriented development.
2. Experience in Java Servlet and JSP development in a commercial application environment with one of: Tomcat, Resin, ATG/Dynamo, WebLogic or Websphere.
3. Experience with SQL, JDBC with an emphasis in web presentation.
4. Experience with ANT, JUnit or similar build and unit testing frameworksMore Successful Candidates Will Have:1. Strong knowledge of bean usage in Model 1 & 2 MVC architecture.
2. Familiarity with the Spring framework.
2. Application development and support experience with commercial web applications.
3. Experience with DOM/SAX/XML, DHTML, JavaScript.
4. Used Eclipse or similar IDEs and CVS.
5. Understanding of multithreading, inter-process communications, caching, Perl/Shell scripting and networking in a UNIX/LINUX environment.6. Prior experience in development of infrastructure components such as web services, persistence frameworks and RMI/JMX services.7. Experience with Apache administration and Apache module development.
8. Application profiling and load testing experience.
