JTRS Senior Software Engineer

Purpose: A client located North of Baltimore is seeking a JTRS Senior Software Engineer. The candidate must have at least a bachelors degree and a Secret Clearance. To be a qualified candidate, the individual must have at least 9 years of related experience.

Work Description: Supports the Acquisition and Engineering Divisions. Duties include:

oSupport maintenance, evolution and standardization of Software Communication Architecture (SCA).
oAssist in strategic planning for the SCA and for the development of software radios and waveforms built upon the SCA.
oEvaluate submitted APIs and other software artifacts and products for reuse potential. Recognize commonality potential of software products and artifacts and recommend refactoring or standardization where appropriate.
oPerform technical software review, oversight and recommendations on the progress and deliverables of JTRS software development contracts.
oPerform detailed engineering analysis of all designs and operational aspects of waveform.
oEvaluate candidates? software radio design and features.
oEvaluate test procedures and processes to certify and validate JTRS radios to the Software Communications Architecture.
oThis individual must be ?Electrical and or computer engineers (people are now going after these combined degrees) who have focused on software development to include requirements definition, design, code, and tests of any and all kinds, who know good development processes and who can determine waveform software code quality and dig to find what the vendors are doing well and or poorly, and help the government oversee development of waveform software code. Need experience with Iterative development (Iterative, Spiral, RUP, eXtreme Programming, or any one of several alternatives). Must also need to know CORBA, C++ and basic UML. GPPs include Intel Pentiums and Motorola's Power PC microprocessor chips. Chips names are used more commonly than the term GPP.

Candidates must have experience with DoD Software Development to include knowledge of IEEE and SEI software development processes.
