J2EE Software Engineer with Rational Unified Process skills

In this role, you will be part of a strong team working to build a portal that will improve data sharing, analysis, and collaboration among worldwide health researchers.

You will work as a J2EE Developer and OO Designer, using the following technologies: J2EE, Hibernate, Oracle (for the DBMS), Struts, Tapestry, and/or JSF, UML (modeling), Enterprise Architect (EA) for the modeling tool, Eclipse for the IDE, a broad variety of open source tools and components. The process being followed is an agile version of RUP.

- experience in team-based, process-driven software engineering
- strong J2EE design skills (OO design)
- strong J2EE development skills
- experience doing unit and component-level testing
- experience working with object-to-relational mapping tools
- skills in the following RUP discliplines: Analysis and Design, Implementation, Test
- strong verbal communication skills
- strong written communication skills

DESIRED skills and experience:
- extensive RUP knowledge, experience, or certification
- skills in one or more other software engineering disciplines, such as Business Modeling, Requirements, Configuration Management and Change Control, Project Management, Environment, Database, and Security
