Internet Product Design & Development Engineer

Major Duties:
Contribute to the architecture design for messaging systems and web services products (e-mail, portal services, news, unified messaging, etc.).
Requirements gathering and translation from business/product to technical requirements into deployable designs.
Java application development, and other environments as appropriate (Perl, Unix scripting, etc.)
Perform and document testing methods and test automation techniques related to the development of email, web mail, and portal services.
Manage vendor selection and third party vendors to develop product according to specifications within budget and timeline.
Perform design validation of technical components for elements that have specification or functionality changes for internet services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
On call support as needed, some travel required.Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.Qualifications
Education:
B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent in work experience & self study.Experience:
At least 1 yr. experience supporting a high transaction, e-mail/web environment required.
Most have excellent written and verbal communications skills, a professional image and must be able to comfortably interact with managers and executives at all levels in major corporations.
Direct experience with ISP Messaging, IMAP, LDAP, Authentication and Address Book server products.
At least 1 yr. hands-on experience with technologies such as Java, Perl and HTML.
1 yr. experience with deployment of LINUX and/or SUN OS and networking equipment (routers, load balancers, firewalls, disk arrays) to support a high transaction e-mail/web environment a plus
