Installation Supervisor

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the planning and supervision of all activities related to the installation of sorting systems at the job site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Train and supervise personnel to properly install electronic controlled sorting systems.
•Prepare and plan installation schedules to meet contractual requirements.
•Develop, improve, and standardize installation methods and procedures to effect cost reductions, increase productivity, and improve service.
•Receive hardware and components at the job site and prepare and transmit accurate receiving documents.
•Set up and maintain satisfactory security, warehousing, and storage facilities.
•Establish and conduct effective lines of communication with the customer’s field representative and with Crisplant management.
•Determine labor requirements for the job.
•Conduct pre-job conferences with labor union business agents as required.
•Assign trade responsibilities for the work by calling and hiring building and construction tradesmen.
•Observe, monitor, and inspect the work of installers to assure compliance with quality standards.
•Chart the progress of the work and formulate and implement plans for overcoming delinquent deliveries.
•Coordinate and document customer’s change order requests.
•Maintain and update file of the latest revised drawings
•Keep accurate records of the job. Prepare and transmit reports daily, weekly, or monthly as required.
•Participate in the activation of the team activities for the start-up and checkout of the work.
•Direct building trades labor as required to fully activate the system leading to acceptance by the customer.
•As required, assist in training the customer’s operating personnel and field maintenance crews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Skilled machinists or metal workers with working knowledge of
mechanical installation, microprocessors, PLC-equipment and data communication, pneumatics or electronics, and PC on a user level.
•Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented.
•Experience working directly with customers is desirable.
•Requires a high school diploma with industry experience.
