Innovative Software Engineer focused on software development tasks, -and product support of the Pro/FICIENCY application. This position involves working closely with the Pro/FICIENCY Product Management Team in the US, the Pro/FICIENCY Product Development Team in Pune, India, and the Content Team in the US.
Ideally, a candidate who is strong in Web application UI programming and has a natural flair for web site design will fill this position. Also the candidate must have experience in all aspects of the software development and maintenance process.Contribute in the following areas:

Perform implementations to specification in a timely fashion

Resolve assigned SPRs and continually reduce SPR backlog

Translate design requirements and specifications into robust implementations

Design and implement effective user interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use

Participate in the design and planning process

Communicate effort estimates to the Lead.

Solicit design and code reviews for your work, and participate in reviews of others' work

Work effectively and productively with a team broken into worldwide time zones

Research new Web based presentation technologies and then evangelizes the application of appropriate technologies in the product.What it takes to be an Innovator:
The ideal candidate will have software development and quality assurance experience.
A qualified candidate will have:

BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering

Minimum 3 years industry experience in software development, meeting aggressive deadlines, and performing software development and maintenance duties

Strong practical skills and experience with the software life cycle and its corresponding processes and procedures.
Strong work experience in some of the following Web Technologies - Java Servlets/JSP, XHTML/HTML, Dynamic JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, XML, XSLT, PHP.

Deep understanding of principles of website design as well as web presentation frameworks such as Apache Struts, JavaServer Faces.

Familiarity with media tools like Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Dreamweaver etc. is preferred.

Familiarity or experience in object-oriented design methodologies (e.g., interfaces, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism) with proven experience in software reusability, debugging etc

Configuration Tool - Exposure to any major configuration tool and change management concepts. -

Programming - Strong Java 2 and Java Servlets preferred.

Container - Apache HTTP Web Server and Apache Tomcat Servlet Container preferred.

OS - Familiarity with Unix, Shell scripts, and Sun Solaris server preferred.

RDBMS - Any major RDBMS and strong ANSI SQL knowledge. Experience on MySQL preferred.
