Infrastructure Support Engineer, CNBC Digital Media

Business Unit: NBC UniversalFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: Position Overview and Summary:
This position is for a team member on the CNBC Technology Team that works closely with multiple business units to plan, design, and deliver integrated enterprise solutions. A qualified applicant should have experience managing and supporting large high-traffic consumer facing portals.Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for system integration, build and support of supporting CNBC Broadband infrastructure as well as other third party products as required.
Primary focus on digital media scheduling, encoding and streaming systems
Escalation point from the Customer Support, ITOC team for complex technical problems requiring escalation to Engineering.
Generation any necessary support and design documentation
Coordinate with NBC Digital Media/Broadband teams as necessary for definition of standards, advancements in technologies and support mechanisms.~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge in web serving technologies, including Streaming Media, Distributed Networks (CDN), Digital Video Formats and Compression, Digital Rights Management a plus
Seven (7) or more years experience in supporting and troubleshooting technology surrounding web related infrastructureDesired: Desired:
Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment; experience in a fast-paced, large portal website
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
High motivation level and superior attention to detail
