Description: Security and Technology Solutions (STS), a key component of our Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS) practice, provides the building blocks for a secure and protected business environment. Employing state-of-the-art technology, Ernst & Young security professionals deliver enterprise security and risk-based solutions enabling our clients to take advantage of the evolving electronic economy in a secure manner. STS professionals at Ernst & Young have extensive experience with information security protection, system security planning, information security assessments and implementation, security program development, business continuity planning and strategic technology planning. These services help companies validate their infrastructure, design and implement business processes and technology solutions, address regulations and educate and train management and employees. Our Houston and New York based Advanced Security Centers (ASC) continue to be a key differentiator for our practice and the firm. The centers provide attack and penetration services at the infrastructure and application levels, including internet, intranet, dial-up, wireless, and black and grey box web application testing. We are currently seeking an individual to be responsible for providing technical support of a moderately complex/routine nature for our IT Lab environments (known as the Advanced Security Centers) located in Houston and New York City. The ASC’s are used by STS professionals to rapidly assess, design, integrate and test the latest security technologies, as well as provide training and demonstration capabilities for our clients. The successful candidate will utilize knowledge of networking, operations, and engineering practices, good hardware, and operating system experience with various platforms to provide a stable and reliable infrastructure. Responsibilities: Monitors and maintains multiple hardware platforms maintaining server operational procedures and standards. Provides first tier support for networking services, hardware and software platforms. Configure and build UNIX and NT systems identifying hardware, software, and procedural problems. Design, implement, and maintain firewall and VPN solutions. Manage network services (email, DNS, ssh, etc). Physical installation of network components. Inventory and manage large and diverse hardware components and software library. Monitors performance, utilization, and schedules coverage for all specialized operational functions such as logging, backup, archiving and restoration of critical data and develops recovery procedures in the event of unit or catastrophic failure. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Approximately 2-4 years related work experience. Knowledge of Networking, Operating Systems, Groupware, and Client Server Technology. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking. Proficient in the use and configuration of Solaris, Linux and W2K3. Knowledge of firewall and VPN Technology. Capable of directing others in a coordinated effort and manage multiple simultaneous tasks. Advanced writing and verbal communication skills are essential along with documentation and organizational abilities. Ability to travel to support other ASCs as necessary.
