Job Description:
The Infrastructure Engineer II provides technical support of a complex nature for the firm's infrastructure environment, associated hardware, operating system, network services, and technical project team. This professional applies knowledge of networking, operations and engineering practices, as well as good hardware and operating system experience to various platforms. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the firm's infrastructure environment to resolve complex problems and provide a stable and reliable infrastructure.Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, monitor and maintain multiple groupware hardware platforms capable of supporting 35K clients, maintaining server operational procedures and standards. Management of VoIP systems based on Cisco Call Manager.
Provide first-tier support for infrastructure services hardware, operating system, and software platforms at the local infrastructure hub.Configure and build application, mail, web, and special project servers and identify hardware, operating system, software, and procedural problems.Monitor performance and utilization, and schedule coverage for all specialize operational functions such as system management, backup, archiving, and restoration of critical data. Develop recovery procedures in the event of a unit or catastrophic failure.Design and refine an automated enterprise-wide data backup and restoration strategy in accordance with business unit requirements.Maintain and update the infrastructure system integration and operational support document.Coordinate the day-to-day operation of any new systems in all infrastructure locations subsequent to production and services functional areas, including infrastructure, operating system, and hardware platform management.Provide technical support to the client on all new Client Server systems, subsequent to production.Examine existing processes and procedures to ensure the integrity of all infrastructure systems and that performance and administration procedures are followed.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: The incumbent of this position must have:Education:
a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
approximately 4-6 years of related work experience
Skills:
good knowledge of networking, operating systems, groupware, and client server technology excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, project management skills the ability to work and team effectively with clients, management and its staff members
This professional must be on call as part of the 24/7 Infrastructure Services Support team.
