Industrial Engineer

American Italian Pasta Company (AIPC), the producer of the world’s finest pasta, is seeking an Industrial Engineer for our plant in Excelsior Springs, MO.

This position will be responsible for leading and/or supporting cost reduction projects and initiatives within the AIPC supply chain. The supply chain encompasses manufacturing and distribution activities for goods produced and sourced in Missouri, South Carolina, and Arizona as well as imported goods from our Italian facility. Working with the Director of Logistics this position will drive cost reduction initiatives and play a key roll in improving the overall performance of the company. This will involve managing initiatives as they relate to people, systems, data analysis, and diagnostics, to drive results in manufacturing, warehousing, freight and customer service. As well to ensure an efficient supply chain network is established, including structures, processes & systems.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Project management – Lead the organizations people and processes in optimally supporting the finished goods supply chain and develop and implement logistics strategies that support and contribute to the overall growth and health of the organization.
Utilize SAILS (network modeling software) to manage the design of supply chain network infrastructure scenarios for projected capabilities and capacities based on long-term business growth plans, and strategic initiatives
Support and manage configuration of the Warehouse Management System (PKMS) and modules.
Oversee engineered standards for distribution centers
Warehouse Process Engineering: Work & Safety Methods analyses
Warehouse Layout/Zoning: Develop and maintain lowest cost solution with regards to product placement in distribution centers
Assist with general logistics solutions for customers
Actively oversee logistics vendor performance by designing and maintaining operating metrics and performance goals.
Act as liaison with business management relative to requirements and solutions.
Travel 20% - 30% of the time to distribution centers.

REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in industrial engineering, operations research, or similar discipline. Masters degree is preferred
4+ years related industrial engineering experience, including conducting detailed engineering and operational studies and managing cost containment, process improvement, and network optimization projects from design to implementation. Knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes, and a demonstrated record of leveraging it to drive improvements.
Strong skills with MS Office are required. Experience with warehouse management systems, network optimization tools, and exposure to transportation management systems. Must have the ability to assimilate, retain and analyze information on the business.
