REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Minimum: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum: 3 years experience in power systems with an emphasis on Industrial power applications or high voltage substations, transmission and distribution equipment
Knowledge of and experience with NFPA, ANSI, NEC, IEEE & IEC Standards
Familiarity with electric utility and industrial power distribution practices

7+ years experience in power delivery/T&D substation systems engineering and projects experience as Project Engineer in protective relaying, substation applications, substation automation, power quality, emergency power generation, and Scada systems
Experience in estimating MV and HV power system projects, developing and writing specifications
MSEE or MBA
PE registration
3+ years experience in power system analysis, familiarity with using Easy Power, SKM, or equivalent power system study software.General: Provide power system application engineering for Industrial power projects including Power Quality, Data Centers, MV, HV, and EHV projects. The position primarily focuses on the Industrial market with some responsibility for other markets when required. The AE will support all aspects of the projects from proposal work through project execution but will focus primarily on the ITO process. In the pre RFP stage the AE will investigate customer issues, understand impact of issues on customer systems/financials, propose solutions, & help influence specifications. The AE is involved in screening opportunities including the preliminary review of RFQ documents to establish the technical bid strategy. In addition, the AE owns costing of equipment and services and is responsible for the technical Exceptions and Clarifications strategy on specific transactions. Furthermore, during proposal development, the AE provides equipment specifications for sourcing as well as work scope descriptions for the proposal document. Once a proposal is complete, the AE will support the technical selling and economic justification of our offering to the customer. Upon receipt of an order, the AE will be responsible for the as-sold specification and supporting kickoff and closeout efforts. In addition to transactional responsibilities, the AE will be responsible for strategic initiatives including performing competitor assessments, developing standard offerings including participation in product development, providing NPI oversight and strategy, developing equipment type/design tests as may be required, participating in industry technical committees and publishing technical papers, as appropriate. One of the primary duties will be to support the PLL in their overall segment objectives through customer meetings and various other opportunity development efforts. The position also requires the engineer to work closely with internal project teams, customers, vendors, and other GE businesses.
