Worldspan, the leader in travel technology resources for travel suppliers, travel agencies, e-commerce sites and corporations worldwide has an opportunity for a Information Technology Engineer at either its Atlanta-based headquarters or Kansas City offices within the Worldwide Product Solutions division.This position can be located in either Atlanta or Kansas City. Depending upon specific assignment, may perform any combination of the following: Design, code, unit test, and debug programs according to established procedures and guidelines. Prepare program flowcharts, pseudo code or action diagrams. Conduct code walk-throughs. Provide
on-going project status as established. Set up and conduct meetings as needed. Conduct integrated, customer and regression testing. Correct errors; re-tests as needed. Implement developed code into production. Write technical documentation of program code and logic. Provide technical support and problem analysis/resolution for existing networks/products. Participate in the evaluation and
development of new Computer Service Requests (CSR's) or Functional Design Documents (FDD's). Determine hours and resources needed, and duration of project. Consult with requesting department regarding most effective approach to the project. Conduct detailed technical analysis and design of individual programs. Provide enhancements to existing application programs as requested by customer. Participate in interface/customer acceptance testing with Quality Assurance organization. Serve as liaison to vendor/
customer for problem resolution and new release cutover. Serve as lead technician on small to mid-sized projects as assigned.Qualifications
Applicant must possess strong analysis, design, development, trouble-shooting and problem-solving experience. Technical expertise required in TPF applications programming using Assembler, TPF C/C++, TPFDF. Technical background in one or more of the following GDS or host applications is desirable, AccessPlus, Availability, OA Schedule Change, ASM/SSM, Host Schedule Change, or Host Inventory. In addition, any experience with supporting and trouble-shooting Microsoft servers is an added plus, as is experience with installing software on the server. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, in addition to strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively elicit requirements from customers. The candidate must possess the ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with offshore team members. Applicant must be flexible to changing priorities and business needs. Ability to work beyond normal hours as required. Ability to perform occasional shift work, carry a pager and/or provide on-call support (24x7).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an Associate’s in Computer Science or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
