IS Lead Engineer - Desktop Engineering

Engineer and automate desktop image creation and deployment; Ensure the desktop is hardened to maintain security within the environment; Manage processes and technologies to produce comprehensive and integrated deployments.Customize and package core enterprise and supplemental applicationsTest applications for compatibility with Windows XP and 2000 standard images and mitigate any compatibility issues discovered during the processParticipate in the project management, architecture, planning, impact analysis, installation repackaging, and execution of hardware and software rollouts and migrationsResearch problems independently as necessary using a variety of tools and resources to provide a comprehensive review and analysis of the problemResolve third level technical support problems with enterprise and/or specific applications, software and hardware configurationsWork with business clients to analyze and design advanced technology solutionsTest and documents hardware and software installation proceduresDevelop and support custom Visual Basic scripts and applicationsMaintain and support Desktop Services department website and knowledge base using FrontPage and HTML toolsAdhere to established policies and procedures with respect to hardware, software, and operating systemsProvide training and support to IS Engineers and IS Customer Support teams


REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience delivering excellent customer service7+ years experience working with and integrating Desktop/LAN/Web technologiesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows, 2000, XP, Office and desktop applicationsStrong knowledge of network and database technology (Oracle and SQL Server)Proficient in developing packages using installation authoring tools, such as Microsoft SMS and Windows Installer, Wise Package Studio and Install ShieldComprehensive understanding of MSI installation technologiesProficient in Visual Basic application development and vbscript, Windows API calls, and Object Oriented Programming techniquesExperience integrating packaged and custom softwareExperience with desktop hardware installations and large-scale roll outsDemonstrated ability to resolve complex desktop hardware and software problemsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslySound program management, analysis, problem resolution, team building, judgment and decision making skillsAbility to rapidly assimilate new information and new techniquesStrong verbal and written communication skills; accomplished in technical writingExperience in web page design with HTML, FrontPage, Graphic Design and Java ScriptBachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; A+ Certification, MCP, MCSE preferred
