IP Network Design Engineer - Crystal City - VA

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include engineering of network designs (from requirements phase through fielding) for the Ballistic Missile Defense Communications Network (BMD COMNET) and associated test networks. Specifically, the candidate will respond to System Modification Requests (SMRs), update network drawings and network configuration files, and develop installation procedures and test plan documentation, attend C2BMC System Configuration Review Board (CSCRB) to obtain technical concurrence and release authorization. Candidate will support the Network IPT Quality Point process to ensure a structured development process and
the required design documentation. Candidate may develop deliverable documents and perform document reviews. Strong teamwork, collaboration, verbal and written presentation skills are required. Some travel will be required to support site implementation, beginning with requirements gathering, and ending with mplementation. Pluses include Cisco certification (CCNP/CCIE), familiarity with DoD Information Assurance policies, including DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), familiarity with DoD message standards (MIL-STD-3011 App C), experience with multicast, high availability designs, experience with network management systems, including Joint Network Management System, Neural Star, experience with NETWARS/OPNET network performance capacity modeling, and experience with network drawing tools such as Visio or NetViz.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS: IP Networking Design, CCNP?CCIE or equivalent exp, Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
