By combining your talent and our strengths, we can acheive great results.Senior engineer and subject matter expert for Core IP Networking products and technologies, working as part of global CMS IP Connectivity Product Management & Engineering team (PM&E).Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Product Engineering Working within virtual engineering team across several international locations, identify and recommend global solutions, which satisfy the needs of UBS business, while meeting the key ITI objectives. Working closely with internal stakeholders, identify and prioritize the requirements for new and existing technologies and products within the areas of responsibility. Translate these requirements into technical designs, solutions, and roadmaps, which are cost effective and globally consistent. Perform hands-on technical evaluations and certifications of new technologies, products and features. Develop test plans and success criteria in preparation for testing/certification activities. Compile detailed documentation and test reports for management and peer review. Collaborating with global engineering team and other stakeholders, establish and maintain Product Roadmaps (6-36 months), which reflect the technology direction and can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences. Operational Support and Documentation Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of product standards for the ITI infrastructure. Product standards may include configuration templates, approved hardware lists, OS revisions and design templates. Publish detailed standard updates in discrete release bundles on the quarterly basis. Communicate and collaborate with senior SD specialists when developing new product standards. Ensure that the regional requirements are being met, while at the same time delivering globally consistent solutions. Provide expert-level support to CMS SD staff for critical production issues, as related to the product space. Coordinate vendor escalations and support for critical issues, acting as a bridge between the vendors’ engineering resources and UBS support staff. Project Support Provide expert-level design assistance for major CMS and ITI projects. Work closely with project managers early in the project cycle, in an effort to deliver appropriate project designs, meeting the key ITI goals and global product strategies. Review CMS project proposals and provide constructive feedback and assistance to the project managers. Lead engineering initiatives with global scope, such as new product and technology evaluations. Maintain appropriate documentation for such activities. Organize and lead production pilots of the newly released products and technologies, providing smooth transition to full time operational support. Communications Multiple levels of written and oral communications, including weekly status reports, management progress updates, technical presentations, peer design reviews, and others. Upward communication to the management, reducing "noise", but providing precise details of product-related issues. Act as internal technical point of contact to the technology vendors, work with vendor engineering and development staff on resolving critical technical issues or delivering desired features to UBS. Participate in cross-technology and cross-stream forums, providing domain-expert level of representation for the product space.Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Masters) or international equivalent Product expertise with Cisco routing and switching equipment, experience with Juniper router and firewall technologies is a plus Excellent writing and documentation skills (including HTML) are a must. Light programming and scripting skills in PERL are desirable. Good verbal skills in cross-cultural environment. Architectural and forward thinking, with the ability to clearly organize thoughts and translate requirements into feasible solutions. Stress resilience and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced and multi-tasking environment. Results-oriented attitude and commitment to successful and timely completion of tasks. Understanding of project management best practices. REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications: Four year degree (BA/BS) or international equivalent in Computer Science
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert or equivalent level skillset pertaining to the above technology areas.
Minimum 3 years experience and in-depth knowledge of WAN Transport technologies including MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM, Ethernet, and others.
Minimum 3 years experience and in-depth knowledge of Core IP networking technologies including OSPF/BGP routing, Multicast, IPSec VPNs, QoS, Cisco IOS, and others.
