IHE Product Engineer

Position Summary:
This position will work as a member of the IHE Engineering team to develop and support new and existing Ideal Home Environment (IHE) products. The IHE Engineering team primarily works with external technology and product suppliers to develop, introduce, and support products which provide improved indoor home environments (e.g., better indoor thermal and air quality control). Current products in this category include humidifiers and air cleaners.
Major responsibilities:
Participation as an active member of IHE product development teams.Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability goals.New product design concept development
Work with Marketing and Global Product Sourcing in identifying and qualifying suppliers.Provide on-going engineering support for IHE products to Sales, Operations, and Quality teams.
Material / component qualification and selectionEngineering analysis (such as performance simulations)
Prototype development, including laboratory test coordination and data analysisEngineering data/unit attribute creationAgency listings (UL, CSA, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years design engineering experience in residential HVAC or consumer products field.
Understanding of residential HVAC and air quality systems, applications, and standards
Systems Integration experience
Experience with Manufacturing Process capabilities (e.g. metal stamping, plastic injection molding)
Knowledge of UL and CSA standards
Experience working with Asian and European suppliers desirable.
Six Sigma training/certification desirable
