Job Description Position Summary: I&C engineer with technical and some supervisory skills for a design staff up to 4 people for power projects. Intermittent travel is expected. Must be familiar with domestic instrument related codes and standards. Familiar with detailed design process, engineering work progress performance and scheduling. Value engineering is a routine expectation. Must be able to analyze engineering and design aspects and make technical and project management recommendations to project staff. This position will also require interface and support of power business development proposal preparation including quantity estimates, scoping documents and pricing in an aggressive atmosphere. Must be familiar with mechanical process, electrical, piping and other interdiscipline design. Strong DCS, PLC system design and Logic development for power plants is strongly desired.
Requirements: Engineering degree minimum working towards Bachelors EIT minimum with intention to be PE in 4 years. Advanced degree a plus. 10+ years power plant design, startup and operation. Experience with developing DCS Design Criteria and DCS Specification documents for control of systems encountered in a power plant. Experience developing project I/O database, point segregation (fieldbus integration a plus,), developing SAMA control logic drawings or functional descriptions of control strategy, review of suplier logic documents, DCS configuration, alarm management, and DCS FAT. Some proposal and estimating assignments. Strong client and interdisciplanary communication skills. Basic PC and Microsoft Office product skills a must, additional I&C related CAD/CAE skills beneficial, especially INtools. Must be willing to learn advanced CAE applications and assist in the development and use on projects. Design and some engineering is expected to be done at off-shore high value engineering centers, management of these tasks and development of work plans is a requirement. Domestic and some overseas travel is expected.
Job Conditions/Environment: Office environment with intermittent plant field engineering environment. Workload will demand adherence to schedule and budget sometimes requiring overtime. Field environment will include performing in a construction or operating plant environment. Safety is a primary obligation.
