Hydrologist III

This position is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of transducer program activities; providing site selection support; creating and maintaining databases and providing data presentation support; providing operation and maintenance of transducer sites; collecting data from transducer sites; constructing tables, hydrographs, maps and reports; installing transducers; and providing well access agreement contract management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic data collection techniques and principles, data assemblage and data management techniques; knowledge of information retrieval from GIS applications and data transfer between different database structures; basic understanding of hydrogeologic processes, groundwater hydrology, and well construction techniques, must be able to apply knowledge of geology, hydrology and well mechanics to collect data, perform quality assurance/quality control on data and construct databases; Skills to be able to read, author and interpret hydrogeologic reports and data; must be proficient in the use of a personal computer query and create relational databases of monitoring data, well construction and other hydrogeologic information, must be able to read and apply concepts and instruction provided within automated groundwater monitoring equipment manuals and other specification documentation; must be able comprehend and carry out instruction with regards to the automated groundwater monitoring activities (installation, operation, and maintenance, data collection, data compilation, data presentation.) Ability to manage and provide general direction and supervision of hydrologists (range III to I) or water resource specialists and to coordinate numerous activities as a lead technical reviewer; must have the ability to present clearly the work detailed in this Unit to other government agency personnel and the public.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree with a major in hydrology, civil engineering, geology, watershed management or a related field.
