Health Information Management Manager

Universal Health Services (UHS) is one of the nation's largest and most respected healthcare management companies, operating behavioral health facilities and acute care hospitals, and ambulatory surgery and radiation centers nationwide.

The Health Information Management Manager will provide leadership and direction to facility HIM Departments and the Corporate Office for HIM processes and initiatives; Provide cost effective and innovative HIM services that will meet all regulatory compliance requirements; Conduct on-site reviews of operations, review opportunities for change, and develop Best Practices to used at all UHS facilities, then oversee the implementation of the recommendations; Provide education on all compliance and coding requirements; Participate in the development and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record for UHS; Provide education on all HIM systems to end user; Assist end user with resolving issues including those with computer systems; Act as a liaison between the hospitals and the HIM vendors to provide support, education and enhancements to the systems.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management and certification as RHIA. Five to seven years of progressive HIM management experience in healthcare. Previous consulting experience helpful. Knowledge of HIM operations and systems including encoders, compliance, and transcription. Excellent verbal communication skills and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel. Actual experience with hospital coding for Inpatient and Outpatient medical records. Knowledge and experience with various HIM software applications. Travel Required: 40%
