Report Status – Keep management updated on progress and delays encountered during development. The following are specific responsibilities of the Sr. Electrical Engineer:Design and implement medical equipment to support functional requirements, business needs as well as product reliability, flexibility, and quality goals. Write hardware design specifications according to our standard templates and procedures. Write and execute hardware test specifications to ensure completeness and robustness of developed equipment. Integrate third party applications into existing framework. Work with Systems Engineers to ensure proper implementation of features. Conduct and participate in peer reviews of requirements, design documents and hardware designs. Manage changes to existing products. Design and develop proof of concept prototypes to support new feature investigations. Experience and Competencies: 5+ years of electronic hardware development experience preferably in a medical device or other regulated product development organization. Excellent understanding and 5+ years designing computer systems using digital logic (micro-controllers, ASICs, PLDs, FPGAs, etc.) Exceptional knowledge and proven experience with PCB design, layout, construction and test techniques including PC/104, IDE, STD and PCI bus standards. Excellent understanding and 4+ years designing small signal signal analog conditioning circuitry. Exceptional knowledge and proven experience with DSP hardware design techniques. Experience with world-wide safety, susceptibility, and EMI requirements (UL1262, IEC 60601, CSA, CE Mark). Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to communicate information effectively to marketing, managers, and technical staff from various countries. Ability to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of audience including product management and other engineers is essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment as part of a team. Produce excellent results with minimal supervision. Strong analytic and decision-making skills.
